NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) was established in 1926 and is based in Washington, D.C. This is a professional organization whose mission is to continually promote quality programs for young children.
NAEYC is our country’s premier association for the educators of young children and the programs that serve them. In 1985, it launched its NAEYC accreditation system to set professional standards for early childhood programs and to help families identify high-quality programs.
NAEYC accreditation ensures that the program has met and maintains the highest national standards for safe, healthy, and appropriate learning programs. These standards are based on the latest research in early education and development.
Less than 9% of all national programs have achieved NAEYC accreditation, and we are proud to be one of the few that have it.
