At Rayito de Sol’s preschool program, where children aged 3 to 5 years embark on an extraordinary journey of growth and discovery. We take pride in providing an authentic and culturally immersive Spanish environment that sets the stage for their holistic development.
Preschool Program Development Areas
In Preschool, children’s curiosity and imagination take off and Spanish Immersion becomes a powerful tool for communication, creativity, and learning. You can see the growth in core development areas as they start to speak in sentences, can switch between languages more easily, and play together instead of parallel play.
Language
Development
Language development is a significant milestone. They will begin speaking in longer and more complex sentences, engage in conversations with peers and adults, and express their thoughts and feelings with greater clarity.
Cognitive
Development
Through age-appropriate activities, children will be able to name colors, begin imaginative play with their peers, count, and understand basic concepts (like what is the same and what is different in a group of objects).
Fine and Gross Motor Development
Our preschool classroom will start to advance their fine motor skills by beginning to cut with scissors, draw basic shapes, and focus on large motor development like hopping and catching a ball.
Play and Social Development
Through daily activities, children will learn to take turns, cooperate with their peers, express emotion, and experience more independence in their activities.
Preschool Program Daily Routine
Through play-based centers, small-group activities, storytelling, songs, and thematic projects, children build vocabulary and comprehension across early literacy, math, science, and social-emotional learning. All preschoolers in our program can benefit from a daily routine that includes:
