Our Story and Philosophy

A Spanish Immersion School Inspired by Culture and Purpose

It started with a dream in Peru

Since 2003, we have been shaping leaders of tomorrow through the power of authentic Spanish immersion.

Rooted in Culture, Built on Spanish Immersion Education

The Rayito de Sol story began long before our first center opened. It started in Lima, Peru, where our founder, Luisa Fuentes, developed a passion for early childhood education. When Luisa immigrated to Minnesota, she saw an opportunity to bridge cultures and provide children with a gift she knew was priceless: bilingualism. In 2003, Luisa opened the first Rayito de Sol Spanish Immersion Daycare and Preschool. Her goal was not just to create a daycare, but to build a school of authentic cultural learning. She infused the program with the warmth and vibrancy of her Peruvian heritage. Today, that same spirit of authenticity anchors every decision we make, from the books on our shelves to the songs in our classrooms. We are proud to have 9 schools that have served thousands of families.

Preparing Children for a Bilingual Future

We believe that education is about more than preparation for kindergarten, it is preparation for the world.

A Strong Educational Foundation:

We are committed to providing the strongest academic foundation possible, ensuring every child develops the critical thinking and executive function skills needed to excel in any classroom.

The Power of Learning a Second Language

We strive to give every child the gift of a second language, opening doors to future careers, travel, and cultural connections that monolingual peers may not experience.

Highly Qualified. Authentically Global.

At Rayito, we don’t just hire staff, we hire educators. We call them Maestras because they are masters of their craft.

Educators with Advanced Teaching Degrees:

In an industry where basic certifications are the norm, we aim higher. 80% of our lead teachers hold advanced teaching degrees. This means your child is being guided by a professional with a deep understanding of early childhood education or psychology.

Native Spanish Speakers from Around the World:

You cannot fake authenticity. Our Maestras are native Spanish speakers representing the vibrancy and culture of the 21 different countries that speak Spanish as a first language.

Exposure to Rich Spanish Dialects and Cultures:

By interacting with Maestras (teachers) from Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and beyond, your child is exposed to a rich tapestry of accents and dialects. This natural exposure helps them acquire a more robust understanding of the Spanish language.
